The Leonardo is the place to be on December 4, 2021 as the Salt Lake Tribune celebrates the 1st annual Salt City Best Fest 2021. Explore all three floors of the Leonardo as you sample delicious local flavors while previewing the latest exhibit art From Monet to Kandinsky.

The main stage at Salt City Best Fest 2021 is the 1920s-themed bar and restaurant, Gold Winner, Prohibition. Since 2017, Prohibition has been offering signature cocktails like The Gatsby – made with Tito’s, Pama, St-Germain, Grapefruit, Sparkling Wine and The Moonshine Mule – a clever concoction of your choice of Apple or Strawberry Moonshine, Jack Daniels & Ginger Lemon Beer. Take your appetizer the size of a sample of venison fillet or chicken artichoke pasta to enjoy with your drink of choice.

Prohibition, located in Murray, will take you back in time with its underground bar vibe, Marie’s Antiques and Oddities antique store and ageless entertainment of live jazz music, burlesque show, drag queens, belly dancing, pole dancing and aerial performance.

Co-owners Kelly Howard, Camille Howard, Nate Porter, and Woodie Wasmer initially decided to create a 1920s-themed establishment because of several Porters family antiques that were incorporated into the space’s original decor. Being the only bar / restaurant like this in Utah, the new concept was very well received. Customers dig the atmosphere “behind the library” and all the enchantment that inhabits it.

The ban has moved from a bar to a restaurant due to COVID-19. They have gone from a simple tapas offering to a menu run by a chef who has also traveled well.

“When we had to close the bar, Kelly had the idea to reopen for delivery and take out; that’s what other restaurants were doing, ”said Camille Howard. “We discussed how we could open the menu and see what we could offer, and our whole business model was forced to change. It actually benefited us.

Chef Johann Chacon serves favorite dishes of Moonshine Cherry Wagyu Steak and Chicken Marsala. Vegan options include Newshawk Nachos made with vegan cheese and the Bonnies Garden sandwich. Lovers of sweets will appreciate the Bourbon Caramel Bread Pudding, a beautiful capsule with a hint of decadence.

They welcome Blues fans on Tuesday nights, listen to jazz on Wednesday, take the mic for Burly-oke on Thursday, and enjoy the moderately exotic burlesque show on Friday and Saturday nights.
