Watch and listen every other Monday in Traverse City

A super sensory summer experience not to be missed: from 7 pm to 9 pm every other Monday starting July 19, Higher Art Gallery welcomes “Collaboration”, an intimate and entertaining network of music and art in action. Imagine: As you browse a gallery teeming with contemporary sculptures, paintings and photographs, you’ll see two well-known professional artists – in the case of July 19, Melonie Steffes and Royce Deans – at work all at the same time, in playing, is the equally well-known Jeff Haas Trio (Haas on piano, Bruce Dondero on double bass and Will Harris on drums) who plays favorite tracks from the Great American Songbook, as well as their own original music. A cross-collaboration experience of the kind that big cities aspire to, this bimonthly event just might be the coolest collision to happen in northern Michigan on a summer Monday night. Tickets – a $ 12 goodwill offer – are encouraged as space is limited. Buy at www.higherartgallery.com or call (231) 252-4616. Find the gallery at 219 East Front St. in Traverse City.
