Members of Motet, Lotus, Nth Power and Ghost-Note to Pay Tribute to Steely Dan at Jazz Fest
The music of dan of steel will fill the late-night air in New Orleans when a thirteen-person group made up of members of The Motet, Lotus, Ghost-Note/Snarky Puppy, The nth powerand more come together for a special tribute show to The howling wolf Thursday, May 5 at 2:00 a.m. (technically early morning 5/6) [get tickets].
After a dazzling performance at the 2018 edition of Brooklyn comes to life and a sold-out late-night show during Jazz Fest 2019, this tribute to Steely Dan was originally scheduled to coincide with the 2020 edition of Jazz Fest in New Orleans. The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is due to return this spring after suffering various postponements in 2020 and 2021, and live for live musicSteely Dan’s rescheduled tribute will once again coincide with the start of the event’s second weekend. All tickets purchased for the rescheduled dates will be honored at the May 5 show.
Led by the talented Joey Porterthe funky keyboardist of The Motet, the band will also feature Tim Palmieri, the powerful guitarist who recently signed with Lotus. They will team up with The Nth Power bassist nate edgardSnarky Puppy/Ghost-Note percussionist Nate Werthincomparable singer Lyle Divinsky (formerly of Motet) and saxophonist of NOLA Bryan McNamara.

The band will also feature seven former Turkuaz members including Greg Sanderson (alto sax), Chris Browers (trumpet) and Josh Schwartz (baritone sax) – better known as The horn section—as well as drummer Michelangelo Carubba (Death Kings), guitarist/keyboardist Craig Brodheadand singers Sammi Garet and Shira Elias.
