Obituary: Linda Nunn
Linda Kilgore Nunn, 73, died suddenly on December 2, 2021 at Mesa View Hospital in Mesquite, Nevada, from an acute brain aneurysm. She was born on November 15, 1947 in Laramie Wyoming to Helen (Wolfe) Kilgore and Ken Kilgore. She married John R. Nunn on September 28, 1968 in Laramie Wyoming.
Linda has lived her entire life in the Laramie area, except for the later years when she and John started spending the winter season in Mesquite Nevada. She was educated at Laramie High School at the University of Wyoming and earned certification from the Dance Masters of America as a ballet, tap and jazz dance teacher.
While in high school, Linda participated in 4H projects ranging from leather crafts to cattle show and horseback riding. She enjoyed fly fishing with her father, sewing, cooking, decorating the house, and participating in rodeos.
During her later years she developed a passion for making and glazing clay pottery. In recent years, she especially enjoyed watching her grandsons compete in rodeos, shooting competitions and other sporting events.
Linda was Miss Laramie’s Jubilee Queen in 1967 and reigned as Miss Rodeo of Wyoming in 1968. She entered the Miss Rodeo of America competition in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she placed 3rd in horseback riding.
Linda is survived by her spouse John R Nunn of Laramie; two children: Abbey D. Nunn of Jelm, Wyoming and Justin Ty (JT) (Kristi) Nunn; grandchildren: Garrett Nunn and Colter Nunn both of Laramie; nephew Scott Kilgore of Jelm, Wyoming, and niece Donella Wemhoff of Shanna, Oklahoma. She is predeceased by both parents and her brother Gary Kilgore.
Private services will take place at a later date.
