The historic Walker Tavern is hosting a free concert from 6-8 p.m. Thursday with the Front Paige Band. This bluegrass band has been delighting family audiences for many years. Bring a friend, a lawn chair and a picnic and celebrate the last days of summer. Admission is free, but you need a leisure passport to enter. Les Amis de la Taverne Walker will be selling their famous root beer.

Heart O’ the Lakes Church, located at 7031 Jefferson Road, Brooklyn, will host its annual Farmer’s Stand every Sunday morning beginning August 14. Bring your own fresh produce to share with others or grab what you need. All product donations go to church missions.

Dance classes at Savanna Rose Dance Studio will begin in the fall on September 12. Registration will be weekly from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays until September 6. Call the studio or stop by to register. You can also register online at www.savannarosedancestudio.com. Class sizes will be limited, so register early for the classes and days you want. Classes offered include Creative Dance, Kids Combo, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and more. The dance classes are intended for children from 1.5 years old.

The Onsted Festival runs from August 19-21. This festival in the park features food vendors, crafts, a cornhole, a live band, and a farmers market. Visit onstedmifestival.com for more details.

The Columbia School District still has spaces available for preschool through the Great Start and Head Start Readiness Program for 4-year-olds. Visit greatstartjackson.org or call 517-768-5130. Children who turn 4 years old by September 1, 2022 are welcome to apply.

The Irish Hills Eagles have the following stages coming up. Starting at 11 a.m. Wednesday, they are offering $1 coney dogs for members only. On Fridays, they will have Swiss steak dinners from 5-7 p.m. for $9, and the public is welcome. The Irish Hills Eagles are at 9500 Wamplers Lake Road, Brooklyn.

The Irish Hills Regional Chamber of Commerce is hosting the “Mind, Body & Soul: A Health and Wellness Fair” event from 2-7 p.m. on October 18 at Michigan International Speedway.
