Upcoming Mexican and Italian restaurants in Erie; Blues and Jazz Festival Food
A new restaurant, Pueblo Real, was inspected and licensed at 8155 West Ridge Road in Girard. The owner said he plans to open by September 1. The Mexican restaurant has sister establishments in Known and JeffersonOhio.
New Italian venue coming soon
the old I jump at 2933 W. 12th St., which is owned by Scott Enterprises, is slated to open as a new restaurant in the spring of 2023, according to company president Nick Scott Sr..
“It’s been delayed because we’re waiting to see what the economy does,” Scott said on Monday, “But from the start we’ve been planning an Italian restaurant with the name Roma, but that could still change. We’re still looking and plan for it.”
Breweries and food trucks ready for the festival
Don’t pack your lunch for the Blues & Jazz festival this year. Vendors will be ready and waiting, including members of the Lake Erie Ale Trail Union Station Brewery, Erie Ale Works, Erie Brewing Co., Lavery Brewing Co., Riverside Brewing Co., and Voodoo Brewery. Food vendors will understand Dickey’s BBQ Pit, E. Dogg’s Hot Dogs, Buckeye Chocolate, Cold Stone Creamery, The Big Cheese, Lombardo’s, and The crazy tortilla. Offerings will include vegan/vegetarian options.
If you like peaches, take your red pen and circle the last two weekends of August and head to Courtyard winery10021 W. Main Road, North East, where they will be serving peach shortcakes and slushies made from locally grown peaches.
Dominick’s selling price drops

Romolo Hosts International Tour
Romolo Chocolates, 1525 W. Eighth St., hosted Retail Confectioners International EduTour in Erie last week. More than 50 members of Retail Confectioners International wrapped up their annual convention in Pittsburgh by heading to Erie for a tour of Romolo Chocolates. Attendees discussed Romolo’s candy-making process with Tony Stefanelli, Group Chairman and Certified Master Confectioner.
“This is the first educational tour offered by RCI,” Stefanelli said. “I’m so proud that chocolatiers, pastry chefs and confectionery owners from across the country have come to Romolo Chocolates to learn what we do here in Erie.”
